“I feel good!”

~ James Brown ~

Have you ever had a day in your life where you felt unstoppable?
A day where you scored all the hoops?
When you got the phone number of the hottest woman/man you ever desired?
Told the funniest jokes; found the most perfect parking spot; closed a big deal; kicked ass in the job interview that you wanted so bad; you saved the world!; you felt sexier than ever and had the best sex of your life?

And it felt effortless right? It was easy!
It was almost as if you couldn’t fail, no matter what!
As if all of the stars were lined up just for you, shining on you.
You know what I’m talking about, you had one of these days, you’ve been there.
And here comes the interesting part.
What if you could have all of your days to be like that?
If that was possible, what would you give for having that? Is that even possible?

Sensations: How the mind preserves experiences

Scientific sketch of how the brain is preserving experiences through physical sensations

Every piece of our lives is captured within our brains through sensory experiences, that are comprised of the 5 senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch.
The images that our eyes see, the sounds that our ears hear, and all the other pieces of our physical perception, are being translated by our brain into electrical signals, that transmit the information back-and-forth through our nerve cells.

The same thing is true for our feelings and emotions, as they are linked to specific sensory elements and experiences.
In fact, the stronger the emotion is in a given experience, the more vivid and accessible the sensory experiences will be captured in your brain.
The smell of your grandmother’s soup automatically throws you back in time nostalgically; the image of your team winning a title 3 years ago is still making your heart beat faster with excitement.

So all of our experiences, feelings, and emotions, are linked to a specific set of sensory elements, which are the bricks and mortar of our personality, and (what we believe is) our life story.
It includes our childhood and adolescence, our past and our present, our good days and bad days, our tears and joy, our greatest victories and worst defeats.
And it also includes the days where we felt unstoppable.

The specific feeling you have of being powerful and unstoppable is preserved in your brain by a specific set of sensory elements, just like the nostalgic feeling you have when you are remembering the smell of your grandmother’s soup. It’s exactly the same.
The latter is triggered by the soup’s smell which is pretty easy for you to extract and bring up; so the question is, what are your triggers for the first mental state?
How can you find these unstoppable mental state triggers?
If you found them, could you access them all the time?

Can you access your strongest mental states anytime?

“It is really amazing what people can do.
Only they don’t know what they can do.”

~ Milton Erickson ~

This idea, of making powerful and desired mental states available and accessible, was first introduced to the world with the rise of NLP in the 1970’s.
The techniques of accessing these mental states have been commonly used in fields where pick-performance is crucial, like sports, politics, performing arts, and business; and are basically a highly important aspect of every other challenging endeavor, or even “standard” personal development.
Yes, it is possible to change your mental state in a heartbeat, and opening yourself to a new reality and new possibilities.

For getting there, there are various techniques, ideas, approaches, methods, paradigms, and perceptions to this field of performance enhancement. But without a doubt, the most well-known and successful figure in this field is Tony Robbins.
After dedicating 4 decades of his life for researching what success is built of, and what generates long lasting transformation in people’s lives, he is by the far the most influential leader of the domain of personal development.

“I challenge you to make your life a masterpiece.
I challenge you to join the ranks of those
people who live what they teach, who walk their talk.”

Change is possible

“The secret of change is to focus all
of your energy, not on fighting the old,
but on building the new.”

~ Socrates ~

Change is possible. A better life is possible.
It doesn’t matter what you want, or what path you choose to lead you there.
Create a clear vision of what is it that you want, believe that it is possible for you, and act to change your life.
“Don’t count the days, make the days count” said Mohammad Ali.
Believe in yourself, believe in your path.
